PRAXIS I Format

The PRAXIS I format consists of reading, mathematics, and writing. Since you can schedule which parts of the exam you wish to take, the format varies between test takers.

Question 1: What is the maximum amount of time allowed to take the complete PRAXIS?

Answer: 180 minutes (written), 225 minutes (computer)

Question 2: How do I prepare for the computer version format on the PRAXIS?

Answer: Allow each question a reasonable amount of time and thought. Treat each question with the same level of difficulty. Don’t be scared if questions are getting “easier,” or getting harder.

Question 3: What is the maximum amount of time that I could spend on each question on the computer version of the PRAXIS?

Answer: If you take the maximum number of questions a safe time would be around 1 minute per question on the PRAXIS after you read the question or paragraphs.
