Praxis II Teaching Students with Orthopedic Impairments Exam

This exam is designed for special education teachers who will be working with students with orthopedic impairments. You will be given 2 hours to complete this 130 multiple choice question exam. There will be 33 questions regarding professional relationships, 39 questions regarding planning and implementation of instruction, 13 questions regarding legal issues, 26 questions regarding the impact of disabilities on development, and 19 questions regarding an overview.

Professional Relationships
Questions regarding professional relationships will cover the teacher’s relationships with the student, parents, other teachers, physicians, nurses, psychologists, guidance counselors and; state and community agencies.

Planning and Implementation of Instruction
This section of the exam will cover instructional methodologies and adaptations, behavior management, the usage of technology, motivation, and learning styles. Questions regarding assessment, placement, the IEP and, career goals will also be included in this section of the exam.

Legal Issues
Questions regarding legal issues will cover ethics, least restrictive environment, PL 94-142, and other relevant litigation and legal issues.

The Impact of Disabilities on Development
This section of the exam will cover emotional, social, physical, cognitive, interpersonal and language development in disabled and non disabled individuals.

Overview
Questions in this section will cover orthopedic impairments and special education. The questions covering orthopedic impairments will cover the musculoskeletal system, orthopedic conditions that cause disability and, medical and technical aspects of orthopedic disabilities. Special education questions will cover genetics, communication, and the legal definition of various disabilities along with general knowledge of special education.
